Detention Position
Adams County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the Detention Division. Deputies will ensure the basic needs of inmates are being met in a safe and controlled environment. This position will monitor all activity within the jail and respond to situations that arise. Detention officers will be responsible for ensuring the safe transport of inmates. Deputies may be exposed to violent behaviors and to verbal abuse by the inmates.
Patrol Position
Adams County is a community-oriented office seeking motivated, career-minded officers who will be responsible for performing a variety of duties involving the enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances. They will be required to respond to calls of service, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations; make arrests and to perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety duties. Deputies will be required to conduct investigation of crimes, accidents, enforcing traffic regulations and perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks.
Undersheriff/Chief Deputy
Adams County is a community-oriented office seeking a Undersheriff/ Chief Deputy who will be able to perform a wide range of managerial, administrative, supervisory and professional law enforcement duties. They will be related to planning, directing and coordinating office activities and law enforcement functions to meet the goals and mission of the Sheriff's Office. They will provide general supervision of the office personnel through Lieutenants and Sergeants. They will assume responsibility of sheriff’s office operations in the absence of the Sheriff.
