Detention Position

Adams County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the Detention Division. Deputies will ensure the basic needs of inmates are being met in a safe and controlled environment. This position will monitor all activity within the jail and respond to situations that arise. Detention officers will be responsible for ensuring the safe transport of inmates. Deputies may be exposed to violent behaviors and to verbal abuse by the inmates.

Landfill Equipment Operator

POSITION: SOLID WASTE LANDFILL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR Adams County has an opening for a landfill equipment operator. The purpose of this position is to perform a skilled operation of heavy equipment in the maintenance of the county landfill and screen loads and provide customer service. This full-time forty (40) hours per week. The work schedule is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, (off Wednesday, Thursday). The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and enjoy working with the public. Adams County is an equal opportunity employer. Patrol Position

Adams County is a community-oriented office seeking motivated, career-minded officers who will be responsible for performing a variety of duties involving the enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances. They will be required to respond to calls of service, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations; make arrests and to perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety duties. Deputies will be required to conduct investigation of crimes, accidents, enforcing traffic regulations and perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks.
