Election Information
Voter registration in the State of Idaho is done at the county level. The County Clerk is the chief registration official for Adams County. Prospective voters have the ability to register online, please click this link.
If requested, the Clerk will furnish a list of registered voters in the county, arranged by precinct. The requester may be assessed a charge to compensate the county for the cost of reproducing such a list. It is prohibited by law to use this list for commercial purposes.

Adams County is holding the Primary Election on May 17, 2022.
To request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you, you have a few options available: You can print the Absentee Ballot Application, complete it, and mail it to Adams County Clerk, PO Box 48, Council, ID 83612 or you can fax it to208-253-4880 or email it to gyoung@co.adams.id.us.
You can also complete the form at the idahovotes.gov website, it will feed directly into our system.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is May 6, 2022.
If you would like to vote in-person absentee at the Courthouse, you can do so between April 18, 202 – May 13, 2022.

Salmon River Joint School District #243 Ballot Note: Per the Salmon River Board of Trustees meeting held May 9th, 2022, the supplemental levy election has been suspended. A clerical error was found on the ballot listing the wrong tax cost per $100,000.00 value. The election will be held on August 30, 2022.

Voter Registration
Registration is subject to dates on the Local Elections Calendar. You are not eligible to vote if you have been convicted of a felony and your rights have not been restored.
To register and vote, you must be:
- A US citizen
- A resident of Adams County and Idaho for 30 days
- At least 18 years of age
You need to re-register if you have:
- Changed your name
- Moved to a different address
- Not voted within the last 4 years
Same Day Registration is available in Idaho which gives you the opportunity to register on Election Day.
To register on Election Day, you must:
- Appear in person
- Present photo identification (such as an Idaho driver’s license or identification card) and
- Proof of 30-day residency (any document which contains a valid address in the precinct in which you reside)
