Description of WAVE
The WAVE process helps individual
entrepreneurs fulfill their business dreams while, at the same
time, revitalizing the local community.
The WAVE Board of Directors is made up
of residents from both Adams and Washington counties. The main
objective of the Board, along with the Economic Development
Specialist, is to provide pertinent information and assistance
needed for starting or expanding a business.
WAVE does not create businesses or
jobs. Instead, it helps facilitate the establishment of a
business by a local entrepreneur. This is done by assisting
with business plan development, financial management and
market strategies.
WAVE has no funds to loan and is not a
grant-writing organization.
WAVE can help the entrepreneur to get
the proper paperwork filed, locate a suitable building, help
with zoning problems, get acquainted with money people,
identify the weaknesses in their business plan and help find
solutions.
When an entrepreneur comes to the Economic Development
Specialist, he or she receives advice, encouragement and
information on sources of available assistance.
WAVE’s Economic Development Specialist works
beside the individual entrepreneur in several ways,
with:
- Step-by-step business planning
- Assessment of business requirements and financial
feasibility
- Help in gathering marketing information for a
particular product or service
- Help in linking to critical resources- programs and
resources offered by development organizations and
professionals
- One-on-one assistance in motivation and skills
areas
If you want to start a new business or to expand an
existing one, you now have available to you
confidential and
free business advice and networking
information. WAVE is willing and able to work
with you for as long as necessary.
It’s a win-win situation: The individual turns business
dreams into reality and successful entrepreneurs contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities.
WAVE is funded by the Idaho Department of
Commerce and Labor and by Adams and Washington
Counties.
